I am a lifetime resident of Nova Scotia, 35 years in Metropolitan
Halifax/ Dartmouth. My background is in sales and management, mostly
in the health care field. I feel very strongly that citizens should
give back to their community and I volunteer in several organizations
to try and do my part. I believe very strongly that this is the land
of opportunity. The main assets of this area are it’s comfortable
lifestyle, friendly hospitable citizens, the health, education and
cultural amenities and the breath-taking beauty. Nova Scotia and Halifax
Regional municipality in particular, is a wonderful place to live,
retire, or raise a family.
Halifax Regional Municipality is One City-Many Communities, (over
200 in fact), is described in a book with this name written by Alfreda
Wthrow. Halifax, the provincial capital is the focal point of HRM,
but by no means is it more important than any of the other areas.
Founded in 1759, Halifax has served as the primary Eastern Canadian
seaport and center for Atlantic ocean traffic ever since.
As witnessed by the phenomenal growth this area has experienced,
especially in the past decade, HRM is a very desirable place to relocate
to.
This area offers all the big city amenities, yet has a great sense
of community, The future looks very bright for HRM with the continual
growth of the off-shore development as well as biotechnology and other
industries.
I will continue to promote HRM and Nova Scotia as great place to
live.
